Dieses Seminar ist auf 50 TeilnehmerInnen beschränkt. (Teamwork)Inhalt:
The seminar offers an interesting introduction to the subject of social states and their area of administration and organization in the field of social services. For this purpose, the political institutions (federal government, Bundestag, Bundesrat, Landtag NRW (excursion!) and Landesregierung NRW as well as municipal institutions) are introduced and we get to know Landtag live. Likewise, organizations and structures of social work (including welfare associations) are explained. The questions about administration and organization are concretized with lively examples from social work. Therefore, a focus on the big welfare organisations (like AWO, DRK, Diakonie ...) as producers of social services will be set in the seminar.An international perspective will be added, when it comes to look at different types of welfare states and you can decide which states you are interested in to learn more about.
When it comes to finances and funding, there will be support to create your own draft of how to get an imagined project funded in a safe frame to try out. Before you will be in a job and have to do this alone, so you got the chance to learn aspects of funding first, ask all of your questions and discuss it with others.
Do you think this sounds 'dry'? -NO! Let me show and convince you how important these structures are for you to know as future social workers!
This knowledge about structures will be important once people want to work in it and also want to build and participate in it. Therefore we will take time to reflect what it might have to do with your personal career path ;)
Excursion to Landtag on May, 13th (10-13 h) to gain some insight.
Empfehlungen zu speziellen Kenntnissen und Bereitschaften:
We create co-thinking-sessions, so we need to get together for getting input, having discussions and sharing experiences and knowledge. This course expects you to be there in class at HSD. You will profit from that and get to know the other participants to start creating your own social workers network.Arbeitsformen:
In the Seminar, we will discuss, interact, do group works and will have a mix between plenary time (with all people together) as well as discussions with neighbor(s) or small groups. As basics, there will be a power point input, so that all people can start the session on approximately the same level.As a preparation it is assumed that texts are red and films are watched as a weekly preparation for the session. there will be no time given within the short 90 minutes of the seminar to read texts. Concerning the topics, there will a few possibilities to make some choices where the group wants to focus on.
In the seminar, it is a guideline that learning should be interactive, is about meeting people and talking to people with respect to different perspectives. A good atmosphere and laughters next to the most important aspect of gaining knowledge will be considered at all times.
Prüfungsleistungen bzw. Testat:
Testat or Exam in G 4.2:As an exam in the course it will be possible to make a choice and decide for one of these two options:
• to submit 3 essays (1,5-2 pages each) on different topics (for those you like to gather broader knowledge)
or
• to give a (15 min) group presentation on a topic and write an own paper (3 pages) on that specific topic (for those who want to focus on sth.)

Bitte beachten Sie, dass Sie sich die Inhalte und Kompetenzen, die in den Seminarsitzungen vermittelt werden, selbstständig aneignen müssen, wenn Sie nicht teilnehmen. Sie haben keinen Anspruch, dass alle Inhalte der Seminarsitzungen auch in anderer Form bereitgestellt werden, ggf. müssen sie diese selbst recherchieren und erlernen.
In Seminaren mit Referaten, Präsentationen u.ä. als Prüfungsleistung oder Testat ist eine Anwesenheit an der dafür festgelegten Sitzung in jedem Fall als Prüfungs- bzw. Testattermin erforderlich (sofern keine Regelung zum Nachteilsausgleich bzw. zur angemessenen Berücksichtigung familiärer Fürsorge eingreift).
In Seminaren mit Prüfungen/Testaten in Gruppenarbeit, Referaten, Präsentationen u.ä. müssen Sie außerdem an dem im KomVor oder im Seminar ggf. angegebenen Termin zur Abstimmung der Gruppen bzw. der Themen und Termine für Referate, Präsentationen u.ä. teilnehmen oder sich entsprechend der Angaben des/der Lehrenden bei ihm/ihr melden um das abzustimmen – ggf. müssen Sie sich dann selbst eine Gruppe suchen oder Sie werden zu einem Thema, Termin bzw. einer Gruppe zugewiesen.

Wenn Sie im OSSC einen Seminarplatz erhalten haben (in den Masterstudiengängen ggf. abweichende Regelungen beachten) oder wenn der*die Dozent*in Sie nachträglich im Seminar zugelassen hat, müssen Sie sich zusätzlich innerhalb der oben genannten Frist selbst im OSSC zur Prüfung bzw. zum Testat anmelden.
